Pay me more! Liverpool's Emre Can deal held up by midfielder's wage demands
LIVERPOOL'S hopes of closing out a deal for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can is being held up by the player's wage demands.
The Reds have been in continuous talks over the past few weeks for the 20-year-old who caught the eye with a string of impressive performances last term.
Brendan Rodgers has hinted at a busy summer of transfer activity for Liverpool, who are seeking to mount a serious challenge domestically and in Europe next season.
But according to reports, talks are in danger of collapsing unless Can's wage demands can be met.
Liverpool are prepared to activate Can's £10million release clause, but personal terms appear to be a sticking point.
It is thought Can is keen on a move and is no rush to resolve his future at Levrkusen.
It is thought that while Bayern Munich have a buy-back option for Can, they want him to remain at Leverkusen next season before returning to the Allianz Arena.
Can netted three times in 29 appearances for Leverkusen last term as they finished fourth in the Bundesliga.
