I'm sad he's left! Victor Wanyama laments Mauricio Pochettino taking Spurs post
VICTOR WANYAMA has conceded he is sad that Mauricio Pochettino has left Southampton to join Tottenham, admitting it is a "big blow".
The former Argentina international did a sterling job at Saints during his 16 months on the south Coast and guided them to a top eight finish.
Pochettino put pen to paper on a five-year deal at White Hart Lane yesterday, which in turn could spark an exodus from Southampton with Adam Lallana a target for Tottenham.
Wanyama, who moved to Southampton in a £12.5million deal last summer, credits Pochettino for helping to develop him as a footballer.
"I learnt a lot from him, he taught me more and that's why I have grown as a player and there is a big difference compared to when I was at Celtic," Wanyama told Capital Sport.

It's a big blow because he had good connection with the players
"He played a big role in my career development.
"I wanted him to remain because he had the passion for the club and I think the owners should not have let him go because the team can do better next season.
