Swansea 4 - Aston Villa 1: Swans flying after Wilfried Bony double
WILFRIED BONY struck his second brace in a row to help Swansea ease past Aston Villa at the Liberty Stadium.
A wonder-strike from Jonjo Shelvey and another from Pablo Hernandez proved too much for Paul Lambert's side, who grabbed an early goal through Gabby Agbonlahor.
Bony got proceedings underway with a close-range effort in the 10th minute before Agbonlahor equalised 12 minutes later with a similar chance.
Shelvey turned heads in the 26th minute with a goal-of-the-season contender, firing over Brad Guzan from the centre-circle.
Villa found it difficult to recover, and the game was put to bed in the 73rd minute when Hernandez struck a calm finish to give Garry Monk's men some breathing space.
Bony hit his second in the 90th minute from the penalty spot after Marvin Emnes was bundled over by Nathan Baker.
The win sees Swansea move into 12th, eight points clear of the drop zone with just two games remaining.
Villa drop to 16th with only four points separating them from the bottom three, and will be hoping they don't fall victim to a late relegation after an unglamorous but steady season.
