No deal! Manchester United play down Louis van Gaal 'agreement'
MANCHESTER UNITED have denied that Louis van Gaal has agreed a deal to become manager at the end of the season.
The 62-year-old is the clear favourite to succeed David Moyes at Old Trafford on a permanent basis, and is expected to take the reigns from interim boss Ryan Giggs in time for the next Premiership season.
Van Gaal will lead Holland at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, and has openly expressed his desire to return to club-level management.
There is nothing to report. We have not signed a new manager
Reports from his homeland suggested that the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach had struck a three-year deal with the Red Devils, with former Oranje star Patrick Kluivert becoming his number two.
However a spokesman for United insisted that there had been no interaction between Van Gaal and chief executive Ed Woodward, claiming: "There is nothing to report. We have not signed a new manager. When we have something to report, we will announce it."
