Liverpool WILL win title… because they always score goals! - Swansea star Leon Britton
SWANSEA midfielder Leon Britton has backed Premier League leaders Liverpool to stay the course.
The Reds took top spot after their 3-2 win over Manchester City on Sunday, two points ahead of Chelsea who overcame the Swans 1-0.
And Britton believes Brendan Rodgers' side can go on to win the title because they score so many goals.
"I would say Liverpool (to win the title)," Britton said. "They are so good going forward.
I would say Liverpool. They are so good going forward
"Chelsea are a very good team, very strong and hard to break down.
"But the attacking players Liverpool have got and the way they score goals, you just fancy them to score a goal because they've got the players to do that."
Britton's Swansea go to Newcastle on Saturday just three points above the relegation zone, after their defeat to Chelsea.
The south Wales club have collected just nine points from a possible 30 in the Premier League since Michael Laudrup was dismissed as manager in early February.
But Garry Monk's side have a decent record at St James' Park, something Britton is keen to keep going.
"We need to stay positive because confidence is a massive, massive thing in football," Britton added. "We will stay upbeat in the changing room.
"We need to try and pick ourselves up for Newcastle.
"St James' Park is a tough place to go regardless of what form they are in. It's difficult to know whether it's a good time to play them.
"The last two years have been good for us (at Newcastle). We drew under Brendan (Rodgers) and won 2-1 under Michael Laudrup. The record up there has been good, so hopefully we can carry that on."
