'Sick' Holland boss Louis van Gaal edging closer to Tottenham hotseat
THE noose is tightening around Tim Sherwood's neck now Holland coach Louis van Gaal has said he is sick of the job as he prepares to move on in the summer.
Tottenham boss Sherwood looks certain to be sacked at the end of the season, with Van Gaal the favourite to replace him.
And yesterday Van Gaal, 62, said: "After two years I'm totally sick of being national coach."
Van Gaal held talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy after Andre Villas-Boas was dismissed in December. He has the kind of pedigree that Levy wants, with Champions League success at Ajax as well as experience of managing both Barcelona and Bayern Munich and is available after the World Cup.

If Sherwood does know his fate has already been sealed he is keeping quiet about it for now. Yesterday he again said his focus was on Tottenham's final five games and ensuring the club finishes as high as possible.
Spurs insists the board will review Sherwood's position only after the final game of the season, against Aston Villa on May 11.
Sources close to Levy say the chairman is also strongly looking at Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino as Sherwood's replacement. He fits Levy's preferred profile as a coach, rather than a manager, who is happy to be on the training field allowing others to handle transfers.
