Arsenal to wait another season for Schalke wonderkid Julian Draxler
SCHALKE have revealed they are confident of keeping Julian Draxler for another season.
The Germany international - who has four years remaining on his current deal with Schalke - has been in fine form for the club, scoring five goals and assisting ten this term.
Arsenal tried to bring the 20-year-old winger to the Emirates in January, but the Bundesliga outfit refused to let him go below his release clause of £35million.
It is understood that the Gunners will renew their interest in the summer, with Bayern Munich dropping out of the race to sign Draxler.
I definitely believe that he will be staying at our club for the new season
And general manager Horst Heldt is certain of Draxler staying at the Veltins-Arena for next season's campaign.
"I definitely believe that he will be staying at our club for the new season," Heldt said.
"Julian is an important player in our squad, he is playing regular matches and he is doing quite well."
