No regrets! Samir Nasri insists he is happy he left Arsenal for Manchester City
SAMIR NASRI insists he has no regrets about leaving Arsenal for Manchester City and believes he made the right choice.
The Frenchman came under widespread criticism after moving to the Etihad in 2011, and he was accused at the time of being a mercenary.
The 26-year-old has established himself as a key figure in Manuel Pellegrini's side this term and could get his hands on a second Premier League winners' medal.
And Nasri maintains his desire to leave Arsenal was solely to win more silverware.
"My departure from Arsenal? When you leave for a club where there is more money, you are supposed to be mercenary," Nasri said in an interview with French television show Canal Football.
"I took stock before I went to Manchester City, I was joining a club with Yaya Toure, David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez.
I preferred to join City and I won titles and indeed I earn a better living.
"I spent three seasons at Arsenal without any title and at the end of the season we sold our best player that was Cesc Fabregas.
"I preferred to join City and I won titles and indeed I earn a better living. And why not a second national title in three years?
"I am very happy with my choice."
Nasri has also revealed he has opened talks over a new contract with City, as his current deal runs out in just over a year.
