West Ham 0 - Man Utd 2: Wayne Rooney brace earns away win for Red Devils
MANCHESTER UNITED carried over some momentum from their Champions League win over Olympiakos to secure a 2-0 victory at West Ham.
United didn't take long to take the lead at Upton Park and did so in spectacular fashion.
From just inside the West Ham half after seven minutes, Wayne Rooney sent the ball high over goalkeeper Adrian, who was caught off his goal-line.
The hosts had a penalty appeal turned down just after the half hour mark and were moments later punished at the other side of the pitch.
Ashley Young ran forward with the ball and crossed into the box to find Rooney, thanks to a dodgy Mark Noble clearance, who slotted into the bottom corner to double the lead.
