Man Utd target Thomas Vermaelen refuses to decide on Arsenal future
ARSENAL defender Thomas Vermaelen has refused to speculate on his long-term future at the club.
The Gunners' captain has started only three Premier League games this season, with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker the favoured partnership at centre-back.
Arsene Wenger has indicated that he is ready to offer a fresh deal to the Belgium international, who has 18 months left remaining on his contract at the Emirates.
But, Vermaelen said: "It makes no sense to talk about it now.
"I have learned to make no long-term plans, so I won't say anything."
Due to the departure of Nemanja Vidic at the end of the season, Vermaelen has been linked with a move to champions Manchester United.
However, his agent Kees Vos added: "We can't say anything on that matter."
