Sheffield United's Nigel Clough not fussed about FA Cup
NIGEL CLOUGH has almost thrown in the towel instead of ?ring up his Sheffield United players to stun struggling Fulham tonight.
The Blades head to London searching for a second successive Premier League scalp, following the defeat of Aston Villa in the last round, after the initial tie against the Cottagers finished 1-1.
A win would set up a fifth-round clash with either Nottingham Forest or Preston.
But, with his side entrenched in a relegation dogfight in League One, Blades boss Clough is simply no longer interested.
“A cup run would mean nothing unless we start winning in the league,” he said.
“The last thing we want is to have a cup run and then struggle in the league and be in the relegation zone. Wigan did that last year.
“The cup is important – but it is not as important as the league. I would prefer a win on Saturday against Shrewsbury.”
