Arsenal may have to abandon Sebastian Giovinco pursuit
ARSENAL could be forced to abandon their pursuit of Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco.
The Gunners are thought to have held preliminary talks with the Biaconeri over a loan move, as they seek to shore up their attacking options.
With Theo Walcott out injured, Arsene Wenger appears to be keen to bolster his firepower to help out Olivier Giroud.
Though the Gunners have been monitoring Giovinco's situation, his agent's latest comments may force them to back off.
"There’s been a request for information but a deal is still far from being done," Claudio Pasqualin said.
"It is logical that that the interest of a club like Arsenal is flattering and something to be proud of, but, once again, at the moment there are no negotiations underway between Juventus and the Gunners.
“Could Giovinco leave Juventus in January? Absolutely not, that hypothesis can be excluded.”
Giovinco has been marginalised at Juve, making just two appearances so far this season.
