Fulham's Rene Meulensteen confirms that West Ham have rejected a bid for Ravel Morrison
FULHAM boss Rene Meulensteen has confirmed that the Cottagers have made a bid for West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison.
Speaking after Fulham's 3-0 FA Cup victory over Norwich, the Dutchman confirmed that an offer for Morrison had been lodged but that it was rejected by the Hammers.
And Meulensteen is confident that Morrison, who worked with the Fulham boss during his time as an assistant at Manchester United, is keen on the reunion.
He did, however, stop short of suggesting that Fulham will make a renewed bid before the end of the transfer window.
He said: "Yes, we did make a bid.
"Yes I think he does want to come.
"He would add pace, power, unpredictability and a real attacking threat.
"I don't know what the situation is now, because that's left with (club director) Alistair Macintosh."
Morrison joined West Ham from Manchester United in 2012 after Sir Alex Ferguson grew tired of the player's off field antics.
He was loaned out to Birmingham by the Hammers last season but has burst onto the Premier League stage this season under Sam Allardyce.
But it now seems that all is not right for Morrison at Upton Park and the youngster may well move on before the end of the month.
