Daniel Sturridge can become world-class at Liverpool - Steven Gerrard
STEVEN GERRARD believes Liverpool and England team-mate Daniel Sturridge can become a world-class player if he fulfils his potential.
Sturridge scored on his return from seven weeks out with an ankle sprain during Liverpool's 5-3 win over Stoke.
And Gerrard has challenged the 24-year-old to maintain his form this season that has yielded 13 goals for club and country.
"He (Sturridge) is a top player with huge potential and he can be whatever he wants to be," said Gerrard.
"He can become a world-class player and it is all about Daniel now - does he want to go and grab it?
Gerrard is excited about Sturridge renewing his partnership with Reds star Luis Suarez as Brendan Rodgers' side fight for trophies in the second half of the season.
"He looked sharp when he came on and hopefully he can stay fit until the end of the season because with Suarez and Sturridge we are going to score many, many goals," Gerrard added.
