Fitness first for Daniel Agger as he shrugs off Liverpool exit rumours
DANIEL AGGER admits he is ignoring rumours linking him with a move away from Liverpool this window.
The 29-year-old Denmark international has been tipped to leave Anfield this winter, with Napoli thought to be chasing his signature.
Rafa Benitez is thought to be keen on a reunion with Agger, whose season has been beset by injuries.
But Agger has put paid to any talk that he could leave Anfield and insists he is only concentrating on regaining full fitness after picking up a calf injury in the FA Cup win over Oldham.
"I'm not thinking about moving at the moment, not at all," Agger told Danish paper Jyllands-Posten.
"I've only seen what the papers say and I can't really do anything about it. There is no reason to believe these rumours."
Rodgers has been hampered by defensive injuries in recent weeks, with Mamadou Sakho, Jose Enrique and Jon Flanagan who have all been missing.
Agger has managed just 13 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this campaign and will most likely miss games against Stoke, Aston Villa, Everton and West Brom.
