Inter gets talks underway for Tottenham's out-of-favour winger Erik Lamela
TOTTENHAM winger Erik Lamela could be heading back to Italy this month, with Inter Milan and Lazio vying for a loan deal.
The Argentine has struggled to adjust to life in England after his £30 million move from Roma in the summer, and has netted just once in 17 games so far this campaign.
Lamela has also been linked recently with a move to Atletico Madrid, but Inter are believed to be heading the race to secure a deal.
Reports surfacing on the continent indicate Lamela's agent, Pablo Sabbag, has flown into Rome to begin negotiations with Inter over a possible loan move.
It is also thought Inter have the upper hand in the early round of talks, which aren't considered to be straightforward.
Lazio are also thought to have designs on Lamela, and may try and scupper Inter's plans.
A chance to move back to Italy could give him the impetus to push for a World Cup spot in the summer.
