Luuk De Jong and Demba Ba on Newcastle's striker shortlist for January
NEWCASTLE have drawn up a list of striking targets for the January transfer window - with Luuk De Jong and Demba Ba among their options.
Alan Pardew revealed last week that Newcastle would be in the market for a new striker, with current frontmen Loic Remy only on loan from QPR and Shola Ameobi out of contract at the end of the season.
And Express Sport understands Magpies director of football Joe Kinnear and chief scout Graham Carr have drawn up a list of potential targets in January.
Borussia Monchengladbach's Luuk De Jong and Chelsea's Demba Ba are among the names of Newcastle's radar.
Any move for De Jong is likely to be on loan, while West Ham will provide competition for Ba.
Meanwhile, Pardew is hopeful of keeping midfielder Yohan Cabaye with long-term suitors Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain suggesting they will not bid for the Frenchman.
Arsene Wenger made a late deadline day bid for Cabaye in the summer, but Cabaye remained at St James' Park as the Gunners sealed a deal for Mesut Ozil.
