Arsene Wenger 'pushing hard' to finalise new deal for Arsenal star Bacary Sagna
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger is adamant that Bacary Sagna will quash speculation over his future by signing a fresh contract.
Sagna, whose present deal runs out at the end of the season, has been the subject of swirling transfer speculation, and has been tipped with a move to France.
The 30-year-old has previously hinted at bringing his seven-year stay at the Gunners to an end, but Wenger remains unconcerned by a lack of movement on the contract front for Sagna.
"We are not far. I will push very hard to get it done, yes," Wenger said.
"We cannot stop him from doing that (signing a pre-contract agreement with another club).
"But for me, that is not a problem because when you are a professional football player, you do until the last day your best. If you don't do that, you are not professional for me.
"I don't question Sagna's commitment until the last day of his contract."
Sagna has clocked up more than 250 appearances since joining the Gunners from Auxerre in 2007.
