VIDEO: Phone's been non stop for Sam Allardyce reveals West Ham assistant boss
SAM ALLARDYCE has been inundated with phone calls and been working round the clock to try and cement his january transfer window plans, West Ham assistant boss Neil McDonald has revealed.
Allardyce is on the lookout for a striker, with Andy Carroll still a few weeks off a return to action and a defender, with James Collins ruled out of action.
"He is very busy on the phone at the moment," McDonald said.
"The phone's been non stop for Sam. We need reinforcements to boost our squad and he's working very hard behind-the-scenes to achieve that."

McDonald also stated that the club will assess Collins after the Fulham game, and they hope he might be available to play Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.
The Hammers are desperate for a win after their draw against West Brom meant they are languishing in the relegation zone.
