No big deal! Henry defends Ozil for not applauding Arsenal supporters
THIERRY HENRY rallied round Mesut Ozil, who was barracked by Arsenal fans for not recognising the away supporters after yesterday's 6-3 defeat against Manchester City.
Per Mertesacker was visibly incandescent with Ozil, who refused to acknowledge the away supporters.
Arsene Wenger admitted to not having seen the incident, but insisted the matter would be resolved between the warring parties.
Henry, who appeared as a pundit last night on Match of the Day, said: "I guess he was upset because Arsenal lost but for me that's not a big deal, he's been brilliant since he arrived.
"They didn't play well as a team today, it wasn't an Ozil thing, it's nothing.
"You have to give credit to Man City, it was a bad day at the office.
"Sometimes you have to go into the dressing room, have a shower and go onto the next game."
Ozil last night took to Facebook to post a message on his wall in which he apologised to the fans.
He wrote: "Sorry I didn't thank the fans at the end of the game!
"You have been brilliant to me and I know you had travelled a long way and spent your money to support us. I was upset with the result and know I should have come to you to say 'thank you' and I know it is a big Arsenal tradition win, lose or draw."
