Boss Rene Meulensteen would not stop Dimitar Berbatov quitting Fulham
DIMITAR BERBATOV has been backed to continue his mini-resurgence, despite ongoing doubts over his Fulham future.
Berbatov’s agent last month revealed how the Bulgarian striker was looking for an escape route in the new year.
But new head coach Rene Meulensteen expects a fully-focused Berbatov until January, even if he wants out of Craven Cottage.
Meulensteen said: “I will not stand in anyone’s way if they wanted to leave. But I had a good chat when I took over and he has been as good as gold, looking at the performances he has put in against Tottenham and Aston Villa. Everyone has their own demeanour and personalities – you respect it and accept it. He showed he wants to do everything to help Fulham get the results.”
