Arsenal and United face Barca threat for Dortmund star Gundogan
BARCELONA are stepping up their interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan - which could spell bad news for Arsenal and Manchester United.
Gundogan is currently out of action with a back injury, having not played for Dortmund since August.
But that has not stopped transfer speculation surrounding the 23-year-old, with his contract at the German club set expire in the summer of 2015.
And while Arsenal and United have been tracking the German international, Barca will compete for his signature this summer.
Reports in Spain suggest Gundogan's father has already met with members of the Catalan club's board to discuss a potential move.
Gundogan would expect to significantly increase his £25,000-a-week wages at the Nou Camp, with Dortmund admitting he may leave.
The midfielder of Turkish-German descent is on David Moyes and Arsene Wenger's radar, but may chose to further his career in La Liga.
