Wigan in talks with Brentford boss Uwe Rosler
WIGAN are set to hold talks with Brentford manager Uwe Rosler today after the Latics agreed compensation with the League One side.
Rosler, 45, has become Dave Whelan’s solitary target after Owen Coyle left the job on Sunday.
Whelan said: “He’s the one, I’ve been looking at and I have been tracking him for a while. I’ve been impressed by what he’s done and achieved and hopefully we can get him
“I’ll be talking to him in the morning and hopefully we can get it completed. His record is good and he was so unlucky not to get Brentford into the Championship. I like what I’ve seen, we’ll meet early in the morning and hopefully we can get the deal done.
“Promotion still has to be the target. It will be difficult and it might have to be through the play-offs but we will try to do that.” Former Manchester City striker Rosler’s family are still based in the North-west and he is keen to move up to the Championship.
