Chelsea fans lay into Jose Mourinho after Juan Mata is overlooked again
CHELSEA fans launched a scathing attack on Jose Mourinho over his handling of Juan Mata.
The Spanish playmaker was an unused substitute during the Blues' 1-0 defeat away to Basel in the Champions League last night.
Mourinho opted to play Oscar instead and replaced him with Eden Hazard ten minutes after the restart.
And the Blues fans delivered a withering assessment of the situation, by attacking Mourinho on Twitter.
One fan begged for Mata to start more regularly, tweeting: "It's high time Mourihno start playing Mata for crying out loud...let him swallow his pride and play that guy."
Another tweeted: "I will never forgive Jose if Mata leaves chelsea but No player is bigger than the club."
Mata has been inextricably linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with French giants Paris Saint-Germain in January.
It remains to be seen whether Mourinho starts Mata for their forthcoming Premier League game against Southampton.
