Mario Balotelli downplays talk of Chelsea swap deal involving Everton's Romelu Lukaku
FORMER MANCHESTER CITY striker Mario Balotelli says he is not thinking about the future and is currently happy at AC Milan despite reports that Chelsea could be set to try and lure him away from the San Siro by offering on-loan Everton forward Romelu Lukaku in part-exchange.
The Italian international left City in the January transfer window last year but has been linked with a return to England to be reunited with Jose Mourinho, who he worked under at Inter Milan.
Indeed, reports in Italy had suggested that Chelsea were about to step up their interest in Balotelli and were even willing to throw Belgian striker Lukaku into a player plus cash deal.
However, Balotelli has seemingly now ruled out a move, telling Sky Sports Italia: "I have always said that I do not look too far into the future.
"I am only thinking of doing well against Genoa [this weekend] and not about the market in either January or May.
"I am happy at Milan and happy to be here."
Only last month Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola hinted that a move to Chelsea could be on the cards, saying: "Balotelli and Jose Mourinho could be reunited because they know each other and they didn't leave each other with hate.
"There was a not very nice incident between them, but they parted company on good terms.
"They have remained in contact and there is mutual respect.
"Balotelli to Chelsea could happen because [Milan executive Adriano] Balotelli is a great striker, but Galliani doesn't want it."
And it seems that for the time being at least, Balotelli doesn't want it either.
