Gunning for Drax: Germany ace sounds out Ozil, Mertesacker and Podolski over Arsenal move
JULIAN DRAXLER has been sounding out German international colleagues about Arsenal as speculation increases he could join Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski at the Emirates in the summer.
The attacking midfielder, 20, a second-half substitute against England on Tuesday, signed a new long-term deal at Schalke in May.
There is speculation a £38million buy-out clause was written into the deal due to English interest.
He said: “I’ve always said English teams are very big clubs and Arsenal are one of them. I sometimes speak to Mesut or Per about the team, about the club, and they always have good words.”
