REVEALED: Chelsea star Oscar nearly fell into arms of Real before Stamford Bridge switch
CHELSEA star Oscar has revealed he came very close to signing for Real Madrid before opting to join the Blues.
The 22-year-old arrived from Internacional in the summer of 2012 for £20m and has lit up Stamford Bridge.
But the Brazilian playmaker admits he was nearly swayed by then Real boss Mourinho before opting for a switch to Stamford Bridge instead.
"A month before signing with Chelsea I was very close to accepting the offer of Real Madrid as [Jose] Mourinho wanted me greatly," he told Brazilian paper Globoesporte.
"But Real was full of players in the same position and I would not have had many opportunities."
Oscar has hit five goals in 16 appearances for Chelsea so far this season.
His country thrashed Honduras 5-0 in a friendly earlier today.
