Arsenal & Man Utd eye Alessio Cerci as Juve hope Spurs & Newcastle move for Vucinic
ARSENAL and Manchester United are ready to rival Juventus to sign Torino attacker Alessio Cerci, and may get their man unless the Old Lady can offload Montenegran striker Mirko Vucinic.
Reports in Italy suggest that Cerci could be on the move in January after impressing during the first half of the Serie A season.
Manchester United are thought to have been monitoring the 26-year-old forward for a while, but Arsenal have turned to the Italian international as an attacking option after seeing Cerci net eight goals in twelve matches so far this term.
Arsenal are investigating a number of attacking reinforcements to support Olivier Giroud up front and the Gunners have been linked with moves for former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou, Dortmund's Marco Reus, Milan's Stephan El Shaarawy and Auxerre's Paul-Georges Ntep in recent days.
However, rivals Juventus are keen to keep Cerci in Turin and are thought to be ready to offer up to £14m for the player if they can offload Mirko Vucinic, who has been linked with Tottenham and Newcastle.
Vucinic has been pining for a move away from the Bianconeri after falling out of favour following the arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, and whether he gets his move could decide whether Cerci's future lies at home or abroad.
There remains a further stumbling block in United and Arsenal's pursuit of Cerci with the former Roma player reportedly not keen to leave Italy as he believes it could damage his prospects of remaining in Cesare Prandelli's Italy plans ahead of next summer's World Cup.
