Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool on alert for £20m hitman Diego Costa
ATLETICO MADRID star Diego Costa can leave for £20million next summer - sparking interest from Europe's elite.
Costa has hit 13 goals in La Liga this season - five more than Lionel Messi but three less than Cristiano Ronaldo - to help Atletico fill the void of Radamel Falcao.
And while the naturalised Spanish international is happy in Madrid, a number of top sides are keen on luring him away.
According to reports in Germany, Costa has a release clause worth £20m that can be activated at the end of the season.
Although Borussia Dortmund are lining up the 25-year-old as a replacement for supposedly Bayern Munich-bound Robert Lewandowski, big English clubs are also in the running.
Liverpool bid for Costa this summer but he opted to stay at Atletico, while Chelsea and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation.
Jose Mourinho wants a big-name forward at Stamford Bridge and has been impressed by Costa's goalscoring form this season.
Same Arsene Wenger, who is intent on adding more firepower to his Gunners squad to help ease the workload on Olivier Giroud.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City are also being kept abreast of developments, with £20m seen as a cut-price fee for one of Europe's most dangerous finishers.
