Chelsea outcast Kevin De Bruyne urged to make clean break from Stamford Bridge
CHELSEA midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been urged to leave Stamford Bridge by Marc Wilmots if he remains frozen out of Jose Mourinho's first-team plans.
The Belgian midfielder faces a crucial juncture in his career as it is World Cup year but has struggled to make an impression.
De Bruyne has made just two Premier League starts this season and has been told his chances of being in the national team could be affected unless he plays a more prominent role with the Blues.
"My request is that Kevin de Bruyne plays regular first-team football," Wilmots told German paper Sport-BILD.
"Everyone knows what he is capable of.
"Schalke is a special club for me and it would be great to see a player of this quality play for Schalke 04.
"Kevin de Bruyne is a player that many clubs are about to consider."
