Townsend wants England to shine against Ozil, Schurrle & co
TOTTENHAM flyer Andros Townsend has called on England to show what they can do when facing Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, Chelsea's Andre Schurrle and the rest of Germany's illustrious stars at Wembley.
England take on Germany next Tuesday for their second friendly of the international break, after playing Chile on Friday.
And while Chile's Alexis Sanchez has turned up the heat of the Three Lions stars by labelling English players 'soft', Townsend has his sights firmly set on the Germans.
"I think that it is a great opportunity to test ourselves against the best going into next summer," said Townsend.
"We can see where we are, we can see what we need to work on and see how far we have got to go to be one of the top nations, so it's a great friendly.
"It's one that everyone in the squad is looking forward to getting involved in."
Townsend will encounter some familiar faces against Germany, principally in the shape of London rivals Ozil and Schurrle, who represent Arsenal and Chelsea.
