Swansea denied by late show
SWANSEA were denied another glorious night in Europe as former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse scored a stoppage-time penalty to earn Kuban Krasnodar a 1-1 draw.
Michu had given Michael Laudrup’s side the lead in the 68th minute and they were on the verge of claiming the three points when keeper Gerhard Tremmel fouled Balde in the box and Cisse stepped up to slot home.
Spurs also made it three wins in a row after their 2-0 success away against Moldovan champions FC Sheriff where Jermain Defoe equalled the club’s European scoring record as he hit the second after Jan Vertonghen’s opener.
Wigan, the FA Cup winners, drew 1-1 against Rubin Kazan.
