ARSENAL new-boy Mesut Ozil wished team-mate Per Mertesacker a happy birthday as the defender turned 29 - with the pair and Serge Gnabry enjoying a cheeky takeaway after yesterday's 2-1 win at Swansea.
Ozil posted a picture of himself, Mertesacker and Gnabry tucking into what looks suspiciously like a Chinese takeaway on their way back from the Liberty Stadium last night.
The German trio all started as the Gunners defeated Swansea to go top of the Premier League, with goals from youngster Gnabry and the in-form Aaron Ramsey.
And Ozil thanked his 'great friend and team-mate' Mertesacker on Twitter - with the duo growing close since his £42.5million deadline day switch to the Emirates.
"Happy birthday @mertesacker29, you are a great friend and team-mate! #happybirthdayper #afc #topoftheleague #gunners."
"Pre-birthday celebration in the bus after the 2-1 win in swansea," added Ozil. "present: 3 points and #topoftheleague. happy birthday Per Mertesacker."
Manager Arsene Wenger will be pleased with the contribution of his German stars, with Lukas Podolski set to return from injury to join their swelling ranks.
