Dortmund to rival Manchester City for Diego Godin amid fears Subotic could join Man United
BORUSSIA DORTMUND could jostle with Manchester City for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin in January according to reports in Germany.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan triggered interest from City, Chelsea and Liverpool though nothing materialised.
City brought in Atletico's Martin Demichelis, although Manuel Pellegrini was keen to re-connect with Godin.
According to a report on German football website 4-4-2.com, Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is keeping an eye on Godin with a view to making a move in January.
They also claim that Godin is being weighed up as an option with Klopp worried that Manchester United could table a bid for Neven Subotic.
Godin has spent six years in Spain and previously played for Villarreal.
His current contract expires in 2015.
