Juventus looking to clinch signature of Chelsea and Liverpool target Xabi Alonso
JUVENTUS are weighing up a move to bring Xabi Alonso to Italy when the transfer window re-opens.
Alonso, who turns 32 in November, has been eyed up for a possible summer move to Turin as a replacement for the ageing Andrea Pirlo.
According to Italian paper Tuttosport, Juve are considering going for Alonso in January.
They go on to claim that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly placed a £5m price tag on the midfield maestro.
Real are worried about losing Alonso, whose contract expires next summer.
This is despite the fact Real have cover with Asier Illarramendi, Luka Modric and Sami Khedira on board.
Alonso is still recovering from a metatarsal injury.
