Deadly Jermain Defoe takes his double chance for Tottenham
JERMAIN DEFOE admitted he had to take the opportunity to impress after scoring twice in Tottenham's 3-0 Europa League victory against Tromso.
Christian Eriksen, the man billed as Spurs' cut-price equivalent to Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, curled in a shot from the edge of the area after coming on as a late substitute to add gloss to the win at White Hart Lane.
And Defoe, who has not started a Premier League game this season following the £26million signing of Roberto Soldado, said: "When you get your opportunity you have to take it - it's as simple as that."
Swansea stunned Valencia with a 3-0 win, but Wigan were held 0-0 by Belgians Zulte-Waregem.
