Liverpool rocked after learning of Philippe Coutinho's shoulder injury
LIVERPOOL have been rocked by the news that their Brazilian ace Philippe Coutinho will be out of action until the end of October.
Coutinho was taken off in the enthralling 2-2 draw against Swansea on Monday following a challenge with Ashley Williams.
The Reds are unbeaten from their first set of games this season, but are still without Luis Suarez who is serving a 10- match suspension.
A statement on Liverpool's website read: "After being assessed by the Reds medical staff, it's been decided that Coutinho will now have surgical stabilisation on the AC joint in his shoulder.
"Liverpool hope to have the 21-year-old back in contention again towards the end of October."
Liverpool's next Premier League fixture is against Southampton.
