Napoli step up Robert Lewandowski interest in bid to see off Chelsea, Man Utd and Bayern
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI'S agent claims he has had recent talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis over a possible move to Italy.
Borussia Dortmund striker Lewandowski was thought to have all-but-confirmed a move to Bayern Munich next summer when his contract will expire.
But, in news that is sure to encourage Manchester United and Chelsea, it now seems that a move elsewhere remains a possibility, with Napoli a contender for the Pole's signature.
Speaking to Italian radio station CRC Lewandowski's agent. Raffaelle Auriemma, said: "Napoli on Lewandowski? I can not tell you how long I spoke with Aurelio De Laurentiis. It must remain between us.
"But I can tell you that we have recently had contact.
"What do I think of Napoli? They are a tough team to handle.
"Nobody thinks they can win the Champions League, but they have a very good coach in Rafael Benitez, good management and very competitive players."
Both United and Chelsea were linked with summer moves for Lewandowski before it became clear that he wanted to see out his contract at Dortmund, with most predicting an end-of-season move to Bayern Munich.
However, with the 25-year-old's next destination seemingly still up in the air, both sides are likely to make one final attempt to turn his back on the Bundesliga and move to the Premier League next season.
