Heung-Min Son snubbed Manchester United to move to Bayer Leverkusen
MANCHESTER UNITED were one of a number of Premier League clubs that were spurned by Heung-Min Son who wished to continue his Bundesliga development, his agent has claimed.
The precocious 21-year-old ended up moving to Bayer Leverkusen despite United scouts running the rule over him.
United endured a frustrating window, with Marouane Fellaini being their only major acquisition.
And his agent revealed that United were credited with a strong interested in Son.
"Manchester wanted Sonny, they had a strong interest and had contacted HSV. We already talked," his agent told German paper Bild.
"Their interest honoured him, but Leverkusen made the better impression.
"It's the ideal interim stage for his career right now."
Son netted 20 goals in 73 appearances during a three-year stint with Hamburg.
