Andy Carroll injured again as West Ham's striker woes continue
WEST HAM could be without Andy Carroll until January after reports emerged that the striker had picked up another injury in training.
Carroll is yet to feature for the Hammers this term after joining the club for a record transfer fee this summer after a successful loan spell.
He was expected to be involved for Sam Allardyce's side this weekend against Southampton but it seems that will now not be the case.
The son of West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan, Jack, appeared to confirm the news on Twitter on Monday evening.
He tweeted: "AC is injured but we don't no (sic) how badly.
"I will give you an update on Him as soon as we know."
The news leaves West Ham short of strikers, after failing to bring in anyone in that position aside from Carroll this summer despite attempting deadline day moves for Demba Ba, Romelu Lukaku and Nicklas Bendtner.
The Hammers are now left with only Modibo Maiga and Ricardo Vaz Te as striking options for the immediate future.
West Ham were close to re-signing former striker Carlton Cole last week only for the player to fail to prove his fitness at Upton Park.
The Hammers have also been linked with a move for out-of-contract Romanian striker Ciprian Marica and it now remains to be seen if the east London club step up their interest in light on Carroll's injury.
