Kyle Walker escapes FA wrath for 'laughing gas' scandal
ENGLAND and Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker will not face any disciplinary action for inhaling nitrous oxide, the Football Association has confirmed.
Walker took to Twitter to apologise after a picture of him inhaling nitrous oxide during a night out was published.
The defender was spotted inhaling laughing gas - also known as 'hippy crack' from a balloon while on a night with friends in Sheffield.
However, Walker will not face any disciplinary action from the FA over the pictures.
"Kyle Walker has expressed his regret for an error of judgement when inhaling nitrous oxide earlier this year," said an FA statement.
"Kyle has accepted this mistake. He will not face any action under the England player code of conduct."
Nitrous oxide is a legal high, but has been said to have potentially hazardous health risks associated with inhaling the substance.
Walker has issued a public apology on his official Twitter account, saying: "Apologies for not commenting sooner on a story about me today. I've been training and am focussed on Tuesday's game for England."
"Now I know the health risks, it was poor judgement on my part.
"I won't be doing this again and hope that no one else is influenced into putting their health at risk by my actions."
