Frank Lampard: It wouldn't be enjoyable to reach 100 England caps without right result
ENGLAND'S midfield veteran Frank Lampard has said the result rather than reaching a century of appearances for his country matters.
Lampard would become only the eighth England player to achieve that milestone, but with their qualifying hopes still in the melting pot, getting a result in the Ukraine is foremost on his mind.
England thrashed Moldova 4-0 at Wembley on Friday, and Hodgson had targeted 10 points from their last four games.
"I will be very proud if I get on the pitch," Lampard told reporters at a news conference.
"I hope to be involved but it wouldn't be enjoyable to get 100 caps without right result.
"It will be a proud moment for my family and a huge honour to earn 100 caps."
Though Brazil seems far away, Lampard professed the World Cup is acting as a real 'carrot' to finish off the job and qualify.
"I've enjoyed every minute of travelling and playing for my country.
"The carrot of Brazil, I'd love to take part in that."
