Palermo forward Abel Hernandez opens door to Arsenal move
ARSENAL have been issued a 'come-and-get-me-plea' by Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez today.
The Gunners are poised for a frantic deadline day bringing new faces to the Emirates, with Mesut Ozil set to make a £42.5million move from Real Madrid.
And while Arsenal had two bids rejected for Liverpool's Luis Suarez this summer, they could bring in his international team-mate Hernandez instead.
And the 23-year-old seems keen to leave Serie A side Palermo, paving the way for Arsenal to firm up their interest after making initial enquiries.
"The club and the coach told me that I could leave if the right offer was made and I think that has now arrived," Hernandez said.
"They know what I want and they know what they promised me. I don't want to lose the chance of playing at the World Cup next summer.
"I think playing in Serie A is beautiful, but the desire to be at World Cup 2014 is what has pushed me to ask for a transfer."
There may well be other clubs in for Hernandez, but Arsenal's interest suggests the North-London outfit are a potential destination for the forward by tonight's 11pm deadline.
