Real defender Sergio Ramos turned down Chelsea move after phone call with Jose Mourinho
REAL MADRID defender Sergio Ramos has revealed that he snubbed the chance to join Chelsea after a phone call with Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese boss left the Bernebeu under a cloud after a bitter power struggle last season with the board.
He was linked with a number of his loyal lieutenants including Fabio Coentrao when he returned to Stamford Bridge, however was unable to convince him to join.
And Spanish paper El Confidencial explains how Mourinho sounded a move for Ramos, as he maintained contact after leaving the La Liga giants.
The paper claims that Mourinho made an offer to Ramos, however he declined the offer.
Ramos is understood to have said he wasn't looking to move on and is happy to finish his career with Los Blancos.
Chelsea could make one more signing before the window closes in three days, but whether they do or not, remains to be seen.
