Liverpool hoping to complete Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori deals before Man United game
LIVERPOOL are confident of completing deals for Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori within the next 48 hours.
The Reds are in the market for a centre back and both have caught Brendan Rodgers' eye.
Brendan Rodgers looks set to miss out on Toby Alderweireld, with the Ajax centre back on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon and PSG and hope to reach an agreement over the weekend.
They go on to report that both players will have medicals before holding further talks with the club.
The 23-year-old Sakho can operate as a left-back as well and will cost around £13m.
AC Milan and Roma were believed to be after Sakho, but the latter according to French paper L'Equipe have pulled out of the race to sign him.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers believes Kolo Toure's groin injury isn't as bad as first feared.
"His injury is nowhere near as bad as what we thought," he told the club's official website.
"We'll just assess that over the next 24/48 hours.
"I think we were all thinking that he might be out for longer after the game, but he's made an excellent recovery.
"The diagnosis isn't anywhere near as bad as we thought, so we'll see how he is for this weekend.
