Ashley Young wants Manchester United to be calm at Anfield
ASHLEY YOUNG says it is vital that Manchester United keep their heads in what will be an even more highly charged atmosphere than normal at Anfield on Sunday.
It will be a fiery atmosphere
The presence of former Everton boss David Moyes in the United dug-out, plus the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of legendary manager Bill Shankly’s birth, will ensure Anfield will be a cauldron of noise.
Red cards have littered this fixture in recent years and Young says keeping cool is crucial.
“I don’t think there has ever been a time when Manchester United have gone there and Liverpool haven’t been up for it, so we know what to expect,” he said. “It will be a fiery atmosphere.
“Everyone knows what the rivalry is like between the two clubs. You want to play in these games. We will keep a cool head, let the fans have their rivalry and try to do our jobs in the right way.
“If we can play as well as we did against Chelsea on Monday night then I am sure we will get the three points at Anfield.”
