Everton reject new £36m Manchester United bid for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines
EVERTON have rejected an improved £36million offer for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines from champions Manchester United.
The bid, tabled earlier this week, sees Fellaini priced at the value of his £23.5m buy-out clause, which expired on July 31 but kicks back in on January 1, and Baines at just over £12m.
It was immediately turned down, after a £28m joint bid two weeks ago, despite both wanting to leave.
Blackpool's Tom Ince, Wigan midfielder James McCarthy and a loan deal for Manchester City's Gareth Barry are on Roberto Martinez's wanted list if former boss David Moyes continues his pursuit.
And Belgium midfielder Fellaini is closest to the exit with Everton likely to be tested if they get an improved offer by Monday.
But reports in Spain last night claimed United had made a £25m bid for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, 24, who shone against them in the Europa League 18 months ago.
