Tottenham set to rival Arsenal and Liverpool for Atletico Madrid's Arda Turan
TOTTENHAM are preparing to compete with Arsenal and Liverpool to bring Atletico Madrid's Arda Turan to the Premier League.
Turan's agent Ahmet Bulut last week confirmed that Arsenal and Liverpool were among the teams that had enquired about signing his client.
But reports in Spain suggest that Tottenham have joined the race for the Turkish international.
According to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope Spurs are now considering meeting Turan's £20m buyout clause.
Both Monaco and Chelsea are thought to have enquired about Turan earlier this summer, while Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim suggested that the player would be in favour of a return to his former club.
And last week Bulut told Tuttomercatoweb: "The club does not want to sell Arda.
"However, if we were to get an offer equal to his buy-out clause Atletico should listen to such a proposal.
"Arsenal and Liverpool? A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned.
"At the moment though, there are no concrete offers, only preliminary contacts."
And it now appears that Tottenham could be set to take advantage of Arsenal and Liverpool's hesitancy by beating them to Turan's signing.
