Man United target Mesut Ozil has no qualms over Gareth Bale's imminent Real arrival
MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal look set to be disappointed in their chase for Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil, as he revealed he is prepared to fight for his first-team place at the Bernebeu.
United have been planning a £43m bid for the Germany international with David Moyes keen to add some more guile to his midfield.
The 24-year-old's first-team future seems to be under threat with the imminent arrival of Gareth Bale, however he has revealed he would have no qualms with the Welshman joining.
"At Real Madrid, we are happy with every player who strengthens the team," Ozil told German paper Bild.
"That's why I do not have any problems with the signing of Bale.
"There's always competition for places when you play at a big club like Real Madrid. I know how to deal with it. I will never leave a club due to the stiff competition for places.
"This is my fourth season at the club and I have always been a regular. I know exactly what I'm capable of. I feel the coach's faith and I have no doubt that I will be a regular again."
Ozil is contracted with Real until 2016.
