Eriksen to follow Lamela and Chiriches to Spurs in triple swoop
TOTTENHAM look set to continue their summer rebuilding with the signing of Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen, after Roma forward Erik Lamela and Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches arrived in London to join Andre Villas-Boas' side.
Tottenham were given permission last night to speak to Eriksen, after Daniel Levy made Ajax an opening £6.9million bid.
Levy was in Amsterdam yesterday to try and conclude talks for Eriksen, who is valued at £12m by the Eredivisie champions.
"Yes, Levy was here and Eriksen has been given permission to speak to Tottenham," Ajax director of football Marc Overmars told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.
"[But] there is no agreement yet until it's signed.
"Obviously, if it happens, we won't be happy at all to lose him but he only has a year left on his contract."
Tottenham hope that Eriksen and Argentinian winger Lamela will help replace Real Madrid-bound Gareth Bale.
Lamela was photographed at Fiumicino airport in Rome yesterday as he travelled to London to complete his £30m switch to Spurs.
And Spurs could secure three new faces before Monday's transfer deadline after £8.5m centre-back Chiriches was spotted at the capital's Heathrow airport last night.
Romania coach Victor Piturca confirmed the 23-year-old international was on his way to White Hart Lane earlier in the week, saying: "From what I know, in the next few days Chiriches will sign for another team."
That trio of deals will take Spurs' spending past the £100m mark, although the North-London club expect to bank a world-record fee for Bale.
Villas-Boas expects Bale's £85m departure to Real to be confirmed "very, very soon," but Spurs have strengthened their squad from last season according to the Portgueuse.
"Our idea is to be stronger than the year before," he said. "If we conclude certain targets that we are looking for, we can be that team."
